Lt Col (Mrs) Manonmani Venkat (Retd)

BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing, Diploma Orthopaedic Nursing, Advisor of Society of Midwives India (SOMI)

Lt Col (Mrs) Manonmani Venkat (Retd) is a veteran nurse educator and administrator with over 45 years of experience, including 28 years in teaching and 16 years in clinical practice.

During her tenure, she served in the Military Nursing Service for 22 years, where she played a pivotal role in clinical training, hospital administration, and nursing leadership. After her military service, she continued to contribute to academia as Principal of Sadhu Vaswani College of Nursing and Vice Principal of Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Nursing, guiding numerous students and faculty members. Her expertise has been sought on several university committees including the Curriculum Committee, Academic Council, and Board of Studies (UG/PG), as well as in roles such as examiner, research committee member, and paper setter. She has also served as an INC ad hoc inspector and NAAC Peer Team member, contributing significantly to academic quality assurance and institutional accreditation processes.

Currently, Lt Col (Mrs) Venkat serves as the Advisor to the Society of Midwives India (SOMI), where she has represented SOMI at multiple international conferences and participated in national advocacy and midwifery initiatives. Through her lifelong dedication, she remains a guiding force in shaping nursing and midwifery education, fostering leadership, and inspiring future generations of healthcare professionals across India.

 

 

Brig (Dr) S Gita Ramesh

Brigadier (Dr) S. Gita Ramesh is a distinguished nursing leader in the Indian Armed Forces, with extensive experience in clinical operations, nursing administration, and academic leadership. She currently serves as the Brigade Commander of Military Nursing Services (MNS), Headquarters Southwestern Command, Jaipur, where she oversees operations across ten hospitals under her area of responsibility. 

Over the course of her career, she has held several senior positions including Principal, College of Nursing (Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow), Research Pool Officer at the Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), and Senior Lecturer at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. 

A recipient of the Vice Chief of Army Staff Commendation, Brig (Dr) Gita is also an accomplished academic and researcher. She serves as an examiner, guide, and mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students across prestigious universities such as MUHS Nashik, Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Loni, King George’s Medical University (KGMU) Lucknow, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) Lucknow. She has published widely in national and international journals and continues to contribute actively to academic research, policy development, and professional advancement in military nursing. 

 

 

Dr. Mrunal Prashant Chavan

MSc (N), FAIMER Fellow, Vice Principal, Professor & HOD – Child Health Nursing, CON, P. D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC, Mumbai

Dr. Mrunal Prashant Chavan is an accomplished nursing educator and academic leader, currently serving as the Vice Principal, Professor, and Head of the Child Health Nursing Department at the College of Nursing, P. D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC, Mumbai. She is a FAIMER Fellow (2019), completed the Emerging Leader Development Program in 2022, and represented MUHS at the International Faculty Exchange Program in Australia in 2019.

Since 2016, Dr. Mrunal has been an esteemed member of the Undergraduate Board of Studies (Nursing) at MUHS, contributing to curriculum planning, evaluation reforms, and academic policy development. Her work has been recognized through multiple accolades, including awards at Avishkar and State-Level Research Conferences for Allied Faculty. With deep expertise in curriculum design, educational methodology, and evaluation, Dr. Mrunal has contributed significantly to institutional development. 

A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Mrunal actively facilitates both online and offline programs across BSc and MSc Nursing, as well as certificate and short-term professional development courses, thereby strengthening nursing education and advancing evidence-based practice
