Haqdarshak is a social enterprise working to improve access to government welfare schemes and financial services for underserved communities across India. The organisation believes that every citizen and small business should be able to access the benefits they are entitled to and address the information, awareness, and application barriers that often prevent eligible individuals from receiving support.
Through a technology-enabled and community-driven approach, Haqdarshak helps citizens navigate complex welfare systems while creating livelihood opportunities for local community agents, the majority of whom are women.
Haqdarshak's model combines a multilingual digital platform with a network of trained community agents known as Haqdarshaks. These agents support citizens in identifying relevant government schemes, assessing eligibility, completing documentation, and accessing benefits through end-to-end facilitation.
Through this approach, Haqdarshak has:
- Reached over 9 million+ families across India
- Enabled access to more than ₹22,749 crore in government welfare benefits
- Trained 52,000+ community agents, 70% of whom are women
- Supported over 84,000 MSMEs and small businesses
- Mapped 5,000+ welfare schemes across 14 local languages
Koita Foundation Partnership: Strengthening Last-Mile Welfare Access
Koita Foundation is partnering with Haqdarshak through the SAKSHAM initiative to strengthen the capacity of grassroots NGOs and community workers to improve last-mile access to government welfare schemes.
The collaboration focuses on equipping community workers with the knowledge, digital tools, and facilitation skills required to support citizens in accessing welfare entitlements. Through the initiative, NGOs across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have been onboarded, and community workers have been trained in scheme facilitation, digital service delivery, and community mobilisation. By building a cadre of trained welfare facilitators embedded within local organisations, the partnership aims to strengthen welfare delivery systems while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities at the community level.
