"Udayan," a Sanskrit word meaning "Eternal Sunrise," symbolizes hope and new beginnings. Established in 1994 as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care is committed to bringing light and opportunity into the lives of underserved communities across India.
With a mission to empower vulnerable children and youth, Udayan Care operates in 45 cities across 17 states, delivering critical interventions and support. Over the past 32 years, the organization has directly impacted more than 76,000 lives. Another 185,000+ have been reached through its Advocacy and Research efforts. Today, Udayan Care’s sphere of influence extends to 47 million individuals, reflecting the breadth and depth of its work and partnerships.
One of Udayan Care's flagship initiatives is the Udayan Shalini Fellowship (USF), a long-term academic excellence and leadership development program for talented girls from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. USF supports girls from senior secondary education through graduation, going beyond scholarships to provide mentoring, structured career awareness, personality development, leadership training, and employability support.
Through USF, Udayan Care has:
- Impacted over 20,300+ girls across 37 locations in 15 states of India
- Set an objective to reach one million direct recipients by 2030, with USF expected to play a major role in reaching this milestone
Koita Foundation Partnership
The Koita Foundation is partnering with Udayan Care to build Udayan World, a digital platform poised to transform the management and delivery of the Udayan Shalini Fellowship (USF). The platform unites digital tools for program management with a mobile friendly website for Fellows and Mentors, fostering deeper participation, mentorship, and engagement.
Udayan World will enable Udayan Care to move beyond fragmented, manual processes toward a standardized, data-driven model across all its locations. With a single, reliable source of program data, embedded workflows, and real-time visibility, the program team will be equipped to monitor performance, identify gaps, and intervene earlier, all while reducing the effort required to manage and report on the program. This will lay the foundation for USF to reach and support more girls, expanding consistently across locations in a cost-effective manner.
