Saajha

Saajha is a non-profit organisation that works to strengthen parental and community engagement in government primary schools. The organisation believes that every parent has the power to positively shape their child’s educational journey and that meaningful collaboration between families and schools can significantly improve learning outcomes.

Saajha partners with underserved families and public education stakeholders to build confidence, leadership, and sustained involvement in children’s learning. Its work bridges the gap between home and school by equipping parents with the knowledge and tools required to actively contribute to their child’s foundational literacy and numeracy development.

Saajha’s program model strengthens foundational learning by empowering parents, especially mothers, to support their children’s education through structured engagement. Trained parent leaders, known as Saajhedaars, conduct regular outreach to families to assess children’s literacy and numeracy progress, provide personalised guidance, and encourage continued learning at home. Level-appropriate worksheets and learning activities are shared digitally to reinforce classroom learning.

Through this model, Saajha has:

  • Supported 40,000 + parents in FY 2024-25
  • Supported 1500+ Schools
  • Enabled 12,500+ children to improve by at least one learning level
